NVIDIA in the past month announced the integrated chipsets for intel platform which obtained the designation geForce 7xxx. Already during November Nvidia company will present new chipsets generation for AMD platform , which will ensure the support of PCI express 2.0 and phenom processors generation with their system bus hyperTransport 3.0.
These chipsets are known to us under the code names nForce 780a (MCP72XE) and nForce 750a (MCP72P) . Associate today noted that those chipset will be presented at the end of November or the beginning of December. During December , AMD plans to announce phenom generation processors . Mass production of chipsets series MCP72 will start during November.
The chipset MCP72XE use two-chip layout. It support up to 35 lines PCI express 2.0, which will allow to realize PCI express x16 + PCI express x16, or to subdivide 32 lines between four slots PCI express x8.
The Chipset MCP72P will be satisfied by one chip layout, ensuring the support of 18 lines PCI express 2.0. If motherboard on its base will be allotted by two slots for video card, they will work according to PCI express x8 + PCI express x8.
