Authoritative research firm International Data Corporation (IDC) has changed its outlook on the tablet market. The forecast was revised downwards in sales of tablets.
In an official press release from IDC says that analysts have decided to revise its forecast after the second quarter, which showed that the growth of the tablet market begins to slow down. Now analysts predict that by the end of this year will be sold around 233.1 million copies of tablet PCs. This is only 6.5% more than last year, whereas previously IDC analysts predicted annual growth in the region of 12.1%.
"Looking at the global sales, you can easily say that the growth of the tablet market is slowing down. But if you look at each region separately, it is clear that this category of products saves perspectives on the individual market. While the markets of North America and Western Europe have experienced saturation, in other regions of the sales will grow. For example, in some countries, growth in sales of tablets could reach 12% for the reporting period,.
Market growth this year, according to analysts IDC, will be provided largely thanks to budget tablets with screen sizes less than 8 inches, which are in high demand in developing countries. At the same time, in developed markets the average cost to tablet will be set at $ 373.
