Japanese enthusiast Shimizu, set a new record SuperPI 1M using CPU Core i7-4770K, overclocked to 6727 MHz under liquid nitrogen.
As the author admit, the frequency potential of the CPU does not end there, though at around 6727 MHz, it was necessary to leave only two active core and disable Hyper-Threading. The main effort of the Japanese concentrated on overclocking the memory, which managed to make it work in a mode DDR3-2896 at timings 8-12-11-16 (1T).
Memory itself manufacture G.Skill, by the way, is also cooled with liquid nitrogen. Calculation of the "pi" number was performed in 5,265 seconds.
