Nvidia announced yesterday the video card geForce 8800 GT 512 mb and now AMD has to present its answer . As is known, in the middle of November AMD will present the video card on base of RV670 chip , which will also possess PCI express 2.0 support and 256- bit memory system bus , and as bonus they will propose also the support Of directX 10.1 and the possibility of sound transmission though HDMI interface - last function already exist on radeon HD 2600/2400.

It was considered that video card series rdaeon HD 3800 on base of RV670 chip will be released on 15 November; however, today it is possible to speak about another announcements date around 19 November, 2007. In this day AMD will presented phenom processors with four core on one chip, and also the chipset AMD 790FX.

Associate reported that video card on base of RV670 chip will have the following characteristics:

Radeon HD 3870 - > 320 stream processors, 256- bit system bus, frequency 825/2400 MHz, 512 mb GDDR-4 memory ;

Radeon HD 3850 - > 320 stream processors, 256- bit system bus, frequency 750/1800 MHz, 256 mb GDDR-3 memory .

The recommended prices for Chinese retail are: $307,5 and $227 for Radeon HD 3870 and Radeon HD 3850 respectively. In other regions they can be $299 and $229.

According to NVIDIA information, in games call of juarez, Half-Life 2: Episode 1, Stalker and Company of heroes the video card geForce 8800 GT will be faster than Radeon HD 3870 by 10-35%. ...
