ASRock has today announced its new motherboard X99 WS-E / 10G.
New device positioned for use in workstations and immediately equipped with four major network ports Ethernet: two 10 Gbps and two 1 Gb. The manufacturer promises to speed data transmission network to 22 Gbit / s by combining interfaces ("teaming function").
The base for all four ports have become controllers Intel: Intel I210AT two and one Intel X540.
In addition, there was a place on the board under seven slots PEG , 10 SATA3 (two implemented by the controller Marvell SE9172) and 1 SATAe, M.2 NGFF based on four lines PCI-Express 2.0.
In sum, the aforementioned Intel NIC, this led to the fact that the capability of the processor LGA2011-V3 and chipset Intel X99 on the number of supported PCI-Express lanes simply not enough and the board uses two bridge-splitter PLX PEX 8747.
