Let us recall that, in the second quarter 2008, the company will release the first Intel chipsets Eaglelake , which will offer PCI Express 2.0 support for systems based on Intel processors - this feature is provided only by Intel chipsets X38, and next quarter it will be joined by expensive Intel X48.
As we already know ,the first new chipsets family received the designation Intel P45 and Intel G45, the latter will get the integrated graphical core with DirectX 10 support . It will also provide support for HDCP, DVI, HDMI and DisplayPort and decoding video Blu-ray and HD DVD will be accelerated at the hardware level.
Here is the complete list of technical performance for Eaglelake chipset : P45, G45, Q45 and Q43. The last two will be released in the third quarter 2008, and will offer a graphical core with DirectX 10 support.
All Eaglelake chipsets is limited to 1333 MHz system bus support , while in the third quarter 2008, Intel company promises to expand the range of Intel desktop processors with 1600 MHz ( processors Core 2 Extreme ). In principle, motherboards based on chipset Intel P35 offer informal support to 1600 MHz bus.
The amount of supported memory grow from 8 to 16 GB and remain compatible with DDR-2 and DDR-3. Previous chipsets generation ( Intel X38 ) officially supported DDR3-1333. This did not prevent motherboards producers to realize motherboard with DDR3-1333 and even DDR3-1600 support.
Discrete chipsets Intel P45 will be able to support two slots PCI Express x16 working on PCI Express x8 + PCI Express x8. Finally, the road will be opened to support of CrossFire in chipsets with this price category. Related Products :
