In the first quarter 2008, the family of Radeon HD 2400 will be updated by graphics card based on 55 nm chip RV620, which will support DirectX 10.1 and PCI Express 2.0, as well as the opportunity to work with DisplayPort interface. Compatibility with the current Radeon HD 2400 PCB will remain and the switch to RV620 chip allowed to reduce the chip area by 15% area .
The only remaining detail about video card based on RV620 is the frequency characteristics and their performance level . Here is the RV620 with 128 MB DDR2 memory .
According to GPU-Z RV620 has 64-bit system bus , 128 mb DDR-2 memory , and 525/800 MHz frequency .
This graphics card also supports HyperMemory technology, which allows to increase the graphics card memory up to 767 MB (from the system memory). Thus, According to the frequency characteristics RV620 is identical to Radeon HD 2400 Pro. test will follow up , we hope to see some performance boost using the new card .
