Japanese company Sony is actively developing field of wearable electronics and augmented reality. A few months ago it announced augmented reality glasses SmartEyeGlass, able to compete with Google Glass, and next month they go on sale. However, it is not about the consumer version, but a model for developers.
According to Engadget, Sony announced that sales SmartEyeGlass SED-E1 Developer Edition will start in March in 10 countries at a price of 840 dollars, 670 euros or 100 000 Japanese yen.
SmartEyeGlass SED-E1 Developer Edition are based on the holographic wave technology and equipped with a 3-mm lens augmented reality, 3-megapixel camera for shooting photos and video, brightness sensor, accelerometer, gyroscope, electronic compass and other sensors and microphones, speakers and Touch control buttons. Will be provided support Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and NFC. Sony glasses will be compatible with mobile devices on Android platform , a connection which is carried out via Bluetooth or Wi-Fi. Battery will provide them with up to 80 minutes of the active display and camera turned on.
