To the announcement of motherboards Asus P5N-T Deluxe based on chipset nForce 780i SLI left one week.
Asus expressly states that the motherboard supports the technology 3-Way SLI, and said that in some applications the performance gains can be almost threefold. Note that the only slot PCI Express x16 blue work in mode PCI Express 2.0, the black slot in the middle has the specifications PCI Express 1.x, but operates on PCI Express x16 regime. As we already noted the video card GeForce 8800 GTX and GeForce 8800 Ultra have exclusive Triple SLI support but they have the PCI Express1.x specifications only . Later, other graphics card can support PCI Express 2.0.
In the complete set with the motherboards is supplied one additional fan.
8 phase power system uses EPU technology : With low CPU load only four power channel are used. All eight channels are connected when the load on the processor reach the maximum. In addition to electricity saving this technology allows to extend the life of motherboard components .
Regarding the support of Yorkfield processor Asus company did not give any details, referring simply to the support of 45 nm Intel processor (next generation). . Officially supported bus are only 1333 MHz , but the BIOS Clock frequency generator can go up to 800 MHz. The PCI Express frequency could be increased from 100 to 200 MHz.
Four DIMM slots are ready for up to 8 gigabytes memory DDR2-1066. There is no change compared with the chipset nForce 680i SLI . Related Products :
