The chipsets nForce 780i SLI is designed to work with 3-Way SLI technology, and motherboards based on it supports three slots PCI Express x16 working at full speed. Currently reference cards correspond to the specifications with two slots PCI Express 2.0, and one slot with PCI Express 1.1 specifications. It seems that MSI company is convinced that all motherboards class high-end need to have four slots for video cards. Here is the motherboard MSI P7N Diamond based on chipset nForce 780i SLI, which has its own design.  Four slots PCI Express x16 have color markings, allowing to distinguish their supported regime. For example, the two blue slots correspond to the specifications PCI Express 2.0, and they work at PCI Express x16. White slot also operates at PCI Express x16, but only in line with PCI Express 1.1 specifications . Finally, the yellow slot is PCI Express x8 and also correspond to the specifications PCI Express 1.1.  The second MSI motherboard is named P7N SLI Platinum based on chipset nForce 750i SLI it also offer all three slots PCI Express x16, relevant to PCI Express 2.0 specifications . The motherboard MSI P7N Diamond is equipped with dual power system 4 phase each using quality capacitors production SANYO with organic polymer electrolyte.
