Last hypothesis about the reasons for the delay in the announcement of three Yorkfield processors models (series Core 2 quad) was that the high reserves of 65 nm four core Intel processors and the absence of competition from AMD side . Today associate got some details about the reasons for Yorkfield announcement delays . According to some computers and motherboards producers , the existing 45 nm processors Core 2 quad cannot stably work in the motherboard with four-layer design.  Intel is forced to reexamine This problem before beginning the mass deliveries of Yorkfield models - it is assumed that they will have time to pass to a new revision in February- March . But why this problem does not concern the already existing 45 nm Intel  processors ? . Let us recall that 45 nm four core processor Core 2 extreme QX9650 (3.0 GHz) was represented in first half of November, and they also uses the 1333 MHz bus. These processors  are usually used in motherboard with the six-layer design so there is no operational stability problem in this case . But if we examine 45 nm  model Core 2 quad, then they can be used in cheaper motherboards, which have only four layers PCB. In order to exclude this problem, Intel decided to release a new Yorkfield processors revision  . Dual core processors Wolfdale do not suffer from such problem, therefore they can be used in motherboard with four-layer design. So  they will be announced on 20 January, as it was planned earlier. There is another method to solve this problem, but Intel does not promise it to motherboard producers . It is possible to release a  new motherboard revisions . Let us examine the announcement graph of Intel processors in the following block: On 20 January will be announced the 45 nm processors Core 2 duo and dual core 65 nm processor Celeron E1200 (1.6 GHz) with 512 KB cache in the second level. The announcement of processor Core 2 extreme QX9770 (3.2 GHz) with 1600 MHz system bus and Intel X48 chipset can be transferred to February. In the second-half of the first quarter Intel expects to begin the deliveries of 45 nm processors Core 2 quad. The announcement of processors Core 2 quad QX9775 (3.2 GHz) in execution of  LGA 771 and the two gaming processor ( Skulltrail platform ) will take place in the end of the first quarter.
