We already reported that the original design motherboard Asus Striker Extreme on base of chipset NVIDIA nForce 680i
SLI could work with engineering model 45 nm four core processor Core 2 extreme QX9650 (3.0 GHz).
Then we assumed the problems
with the stability of Yorkfield processors with
specific combinations ( chipset and motherboard ) is not related to the chipset nForce 680i SLI standard
design.
DFI and Asus propose to the owners of motherboard
on base of chipset nForce 680i SLI Yorkfield support after bios update . The corresponding beta
versions for DFI LanParty UT NF680i
Sli-t2r and Asus Striker Extreme is already available .
