The Swedish company Fractal Design tested noise insulation characteristics for the case Define R5. Define R5 was released nearly a year ago.
In one case, the system was assembled in the case Define R5 with a blank panel. In the second case - the side panel with the window. In the third case, the stand worked without case.
System Puget Systems EATX V1 Diy Kit - include processor Intel Core i7 4790K (4 GHz, cache 8 MBb TDP 88 W). Processor cooler - Gelid Trangullio Rev3 fan Scythe Slipstream 120mm (model SY1225SL12SL). Motherboard - ASUS Sabertooth Z97 Mark 2. Video Card - ASUS GeForce GTX 980 4GB STRIX DirectCU II OC. Memory - two Kingston 16GB DDR3-1600 8GB. Drive - SSD Samsung 840 EVO 250 GB. Hull fans - 5-volt Fractal Design GP14 Dynamic 140. System - Windows 8.1 OEM 64-bit.
As the graph shows, Define R5 both in the blank panel and window proved to be almost twice as quieter than outdoor stand: the noise level from the closed body at 100% load was at the level of about 21 dBA. The difference of 10 dBA corresponds exactly to double the difference in the perceived noise level . Related Products :
