According to analysts estimations, VIA company has not more than 0,28% world market for processors.
VIA Company prepare for announcement the processors generation CN (Isaiah) since 2004, and last references about these processors is the possibility of their announcement in the beginning of 2008. It was assumed that Isaiah processors will support 64- bit expansions, and their speed level will be twice higher than predecessors.
The first processors Isaiah from VIA company will be released in the middle of this year. Frequency will be approximately 2 GHz and their performance will be twice higher then predecessors, in this case the energy consumption level will remain at the previous level - not more than 3,5 W with peak load. According to the processors packing dimensions , Isaiah are compatible with generation C7 processors .
Processors Isaiah have 64 KB cache in the first level for data and commands respectively, the second level cache volume is equal to 1 mb.. The cache of these processors has the exclusive organization: the same data cannot be stored in the cache of different levels.
Besides the long-awaited 64- bit expansions, which allow these processors to work under 64- bit operating systems, Isaiah processors will obtain the possibility of extraordinary commands execution. Until now, VIA did not want to inject this possibility because due to its tendency to reduce the energy consumption level . Now either appeared other sources of energy consumption reduction or priority was returned to the increased speed.
Although the first processors of this generation will be single core , VIA can transfer this architecture, also, to the dual core processors. Isaiah Processors will be released on 65 nm technology. Related Products :
