Today began beta testing office suite SoftMaker Office 2016 for the platforms Windows, Linux and Android. This package includes a word processor TextMaker, spreadsheet editor PlanMaker, an application for creating presentations and a built-in mail client.
This package is compatible with Microsoft formats and OpenDocument, it is proprietary, but there is also a free version of SoftMaker FreeOffice.
The main innovation was the emergence of a new version of the mail client based on Thunderbird software code from Mozilla. Also used Planner Lightning. The program looks different from traditional Thunderbird, but the interface changes are made at the expense of plug-ins and add-ons, without interfering with the code.
Importantly, SoftMaker supports the latest standards from the Redmond company - docx, xlsx, pptx, and their older counterparts. It also supports export to EPUB and PDF, and create presentations in HTML, but other than that, there is the possibility of collaborative editing of documents. Related Products :
