NForce 790i Ultra SLI and nForce 790i SLI announcement transfer to the following block did not influence motherboards preparation periods . We already talked about standard design motherboard on base of nForce 790i SLI from EVGA, and today on XtremeSystems appeared the description of additional motherboard from Asus.

As usual, this producer preferred to create the motherboard using its own design. On chipset nForce 790i Ultra SLI will be based the motherboard Asus Striker II Extreme, and the chipset nForce 790i SLI will be used in Asus Striker II NSE. Asus Striker II Extreme Ensures support to Ddr3-2000 through EPP expansions , and Striker II NSE is limited to Ddr3-1600 regime. Formally this chipset series support only Ddr3-1333.

As in case with preceding chipset nForce 780i SLI, new one support 3-way technology , for this reason this motherboard support three slots PCI Express x16. Only two dark-blue slots correspond to PCI Express 2.0 specifications , white slot is satisfied with PCI Express 1.1 compatibility , but it works at full speed PCI Express x16.

There are no chip- switchboards like nForce 200 on this motherboard.

Along the entire PCB surface we have the colored light-emitting diodes, which reflect the degree of system bus increase , memory , chipset and processor voltage. When dangerous values are achieved, light-emitting diodes show a red color. This Idea is amusing, but is not too practical .
