For several years the Japanese Sharp Corporation is trying to find the funds for own salvation, and recently intensified rumors of interest by the Japanese government-backed fund INCJ buying a big stake in Sharp to further combining assets with the largest competitor - the company Japan Display.
As reported by Reuters, citing informed sources, last week representatives of Hon Hai Precision Industry (Foxconn) once again entered into negotiations with Sharp and its major creditors over the possibility of investment and cooperation. Different variants: Foxconn offers both to maintain a business Sharp to produce LCD panels, and to invest in the capital of the entire corporation.
Representatives Sharp explained that negotiations with various investors regarding the business restructuring of the production of LCD panels, but no agreements had yet been reached. As a rule, Japanese corporations are trying to prevent "outsiders" to the management of the business, to Foxconn, and it can become a serious obstacle. However, this does not prevent Foxconn and Sharp together to produce displays on one of the Japanese companies. The Taiwanese company is trying to negotiate with Sharp on deepening cooperation since 2012, but so far no significant progress is reached.
