This week, the conversations of Foxconn leadership Electronics (Hon Hai Precision Industry) about massive investments in the US economy acquired more or less clear outlines. On Thursday, the head of Foxconn, Terry Gou (Terry Gou) said that the company is developing a plan called "Flying Eagle" (flying eagle). Final outline this plan will take in late July or early August. At the moment, there is a choice of one of six US states - Ohio, Pennsylvania, Michigan, Illinois, Wisconsin, Indiana or Texas, which will be built by a large factory Foxconn.
The total amount of investments in the project will reach or even exceed $ 10 billion. A significant part of the funds will go to the construction of the plant - this is about $ 7 billion. The rest will be directed to other projects. The main directions of the industry development Terry Gow sees Big Data (processing of unstructured information), video with a resolution of 8K and a connection of 5G. Probably, this is what additional financing will go to.
The new factory Foxconn in the US promises to become "smart" (use artificial intelligence technologies) and "green" (energy efficient). It will create over 10,000 jobs.
Also Foxconn plans to create in the US a network of supplies of components for its needs. Separately, Terry Gow said that he will continue to struggle for the assets of Toshiba. The latter has already announced a firm intention to choose as a buyer a consortium of the US investment fund and a number of domestic financial institutions. This is not the end, says Foxconn chief, there are levers of influence on this choice and they are being applied.
