Recently it became known that at the beginning of 2016, Samsung will start production of memory chips at advanced technology 1x-nano (18 nm) that is needed to save the Korean giant's market share and profitability against a background of falling prices for this type of computer memory. According to website SamMobile, in the first half of 2016 will start mass production of NAND chips on 14 nm technology.
Solutions that use these flash memory chips, Samsung is going to introduce in the International Solid-State Circuits Conference (ISSCC), which will take place January 31.
One of the key advantages of NAND memory, made on a 14-nm process, the production cost is lower due to the reduced by 12.5% crystal (as compared with 16 nm products). Moreover, these chips are faster to read and write operations, as they are characterized by smaller number of input errors.
