Recently, it was reported that Samsung is developing a single-chip platform Exynos 8870, which allegedly is a bit stripped-down version of the flagship platform Exynos 8890. This means that the new product will also include core performance architecture Mongoose ARMv8, as well as additional core Cortex-A53.
Initially, the network sources claimed that Samsung will launches this chip exclusively for its customers, for example, Meizu. Now it is reported that Lenovo is going to use the Exynos 8870 in one of its smartphones in 2016. It is expected that this will be the flagship unit, because according to Samsung, the processor Exynos 8870 has almost the same performance as the Snapdragon 820.
Unfortunately, Samsung has not yet confirmed the existence of any Exynos 8870 or deal with any manufacturer.
