Intel company has some ideas about speed increase with nehalem generation processors relative to predecessors and competitors, and therefore it shares this information with its partners.  A pair of barcelona processors with 2.3 GHz frequency is up to 35% slower than Shanghai 2.8 GHz in integral benchmarks, and up to 57% slower in floating point operations . Two-processor system on the base Of gainestown (Nehalem-EP) is up to 104% faster than Xeon x5482 (3.2 GHz) on 45 nm core harpertown in floating point tests , and up to 44% faster in tests with integral calculations.  In xtremeSystems appeared one additional photograph of the engineering model nehalem-EP (left photo ) next to the processor core 2 Extreme QX9770 (3.2 GHz).
