Asustek Computer company has released a financial report for the first quarter 2016, which ended in March and marked by the growth of revenues. According to Taiwanese trade publication, the consolidated Taiwan's turnover in March reached 48.57 billion Taiwan dollars (about $ 1.48 billion), while revenue for the period from January to March amounted to 119.254 billion Taiwan dollars, which is 10.11% less than the previous quarter, but at the same time, 6.58% more than in the same quarter last year.
In the first quarter this year, sales of products under its own brand were higher than expected, mainly due to the increase in the share of the Chinese Asus notebook market, as well as due to an increase in demand for notebook computers in Eastern Europe. At the same time the company's management the increase in competitiveness in the segment Asustek ultrabooks and high-performance notebooks for gamers.
In the first quarter of 2016 Asus shipped 4.9 million laptops, one million tablets, 4 million 500 thousand smartphones and desktop computers. At the end of the year it expects to sell 20 million laptops, 5-6 million tablets, 25 million smartphones and from 2 to 4 million desktops.
Recall, Asustek is planning to present its new smartphone ZenFone 3 at Computex 2016, which will be held in Taipei from 31 May to 4 June. Sales of new items in small quantities will start in June.
