The Network has flowed official slides with information about the upcoming release of Intel Broadwell-E high-performance processors. The first thing to note - Intel will introduce the new processors on May 30 at the exhibition Computex 2016.
As already known, Broadwell-E will enter four processors manufactured on the 14-nm technology standards. Intel estimated the new items as follows:
-
Core i7 6950X with 10 cores, frequency 3.0 - 3.5 GHz, and 25 MB cache will cost $ 1723;
-
Core i7 6900K with 8 cores, frequency 3.2 - 3.7 GHz, and 20 MB cache will cost $ 1089;
-
Core i7 6850K with 6-core, frequency 3.6 - 3.8 GHz, and 15 MB cache will cost $ 617;
-
Core i7 6800K with 6-core, frequency 3.4 - 3.6 GHz, and 15 MB cache will cost $ 434.
Broadwell-E processors will be supported by technology Turbo Boost Max 3.0, which Intel claims, to provide a 15% performance increase in single-threaded and multi-threaded modes. Unfortunately, at the moment is all that is known about the technology . Also, some features have been added that are useful for acceleration, for example, the possibility of overclock of each core individually .
As Intel claims, Broadwell-E processor performance increased to 35% in multi-threaded mode, compared to the previous generation (Haswell-E). Note that the new items are equipped with 4-channel memory controller DDR4-2400 (OC +), their level TDP is 140 watts, they support Intel Hyper-Threading. Three senior device got 40 lines of PCI Express 3.0, and the junior Core i7 6800K only 28 lines. New products have performance of LGA 2011-3 and will work on motherboards with chipset Intel X99.
