HPE Company, inherited the "corporate" business once united Hewlett-Packard, is ready to provide clients with solutions based on processors Itanium until 2025, according to documents for internal use only.
As explained by Bloomberg publication , Oracle and HPE is now trying to find out the relationship in court, since the latter requires treacherous partner compensation in the amount of $ 3 billion. One of Oracle founder Larry Ellison , was compelled in court to prove that a disclaimer from Itanium support was not aimed at infringing the interests of HP. According to Ellison, Oracle has made such a statement because of Intel's intentions to stop funding the development of the Itanium processor. Business and nothing personal, but HPE does not believe it.
As a result of the court hearing in 2012 was the verdict, according to which Oracle is obliged to fulfill its obligations to develop software for Itanium. The company had no right to unilaterally break the terms of the contract and to terminate it. The current session of the court should determine how well both parties fulfilled their contractual obligations. Oracle continues to insist that Intel stops the development of Itanium processor family, and to demand from the developer three billion dollars for the statement of facts is stupid and unfair. HPE representatives claim that Intel confirmed its intention to produce Itanium processors in the foreseeable future, and Oracle arguments are untenable.
The court tried to define the role of the former head HP Mark Hurd in the rift between the companies since it started working in August 2010 at Oracle, and could "carry" with valuable information, which launched the process of confrontation between the partners.
