RV670 Video chip marked AMD successes on passage to 55 nm technical process in last year, whereas NVIDIA continues to release its most progressive video chips on 65 nm technology. The use of 55 nm  technical process allow RV670 chip to be more compact even in comparison with G94. RV670 is not leaders from the speed level side   , but it present to AMD a certain advantage in the production prime cost  . It is assumed that the outgoing in the second quarter video chip RV770 will be also released on 55 nm technology, and the attractiveness of products on its basis will increase due to the performance increase in comparison with RV670. NVIDIA is prepared to transfer the chip g92 from 65 nm to 55 nm technical process. The new version will be released at the end of the second quarter, almost simultaneously with RV770. The primary mission of 55 nm version G 92- in the work in mobile segment, where the compact sizes and low energy consumption have special importance. Associates assume that 55 nm NVIDIA chips will appear also in desktop segment, since they can bring not only reduction in prime cost, but also raising in the speed level due to the higher frequencies. Some sources assert that the new high end NVIDIA (GT200 code )will be released during June this year. Related Products :
