Dunnington will consist on 1,9 billions (!) transistors, to include 6 core and 16 MB cache in the third level. In this case all will be packed in one crystal.
The release period Of dunnington is the second-half of present year (Q2 2008).
Concerning Nehalem , Intel representative confirmed information that such processors will have the integrated three-channel memory controller DDR 3-1333. It will support up to 18 GB memory with memory bandwidth 32 GB/s. Cache volume in the second level will be small in comparison with present intel CPU - only 256 KB per core. This will be compensated by the divided between core 16 MB L3 cache .
Nehalem will get the improved in comparison with architecture Core algorithms for parallel calculations execution (at the instructions level ) , the optimized cache work , synchronization algorithms , branching's and predictions.
