3DCenter.org recently published test results of Core i7-7700K in Geekbench .
For this processor generation Core i7-6700K Skylake was overclocked to 4.5 GHz. This allow to judge how fast could have this model on a par with Kaby Lake frequencies. Recall that the Core i7-7700K must operate at frequencies 4.2 / 4.5 GHz, although the process technology for the production of the processor used the same - 14 nm.
When the difference in frequency was fixed, it was clear that in the specific test application Geekbench 4.0 magnitude Kaby Lake performance gain is measured by 2-3%. Moreover, the German colleagues even published a kind of "progress anthology" Intel processors that were released in recent years.
It is clearly seen that in this decade, a notable increase performance excelled only Sandy Bridge processors, and their followers were added at 6-8% at best. Moreover, in spite of the visible progress in default frequencies, overclocking potential of processors almost never increases. Of course, much depends on the cooling conditions. Related Products :
