China's largest contract manufacturer of chips -  company Semiconductor Manufacturing International Corporation (SMIC) - reported that it intends to build in the south of China's first factory for the production of semiconductors on 300 mm silicon wafers.  The plant will be built on the basis of a going concern company near Shenzhen , which produces chips on 200-mm wafers.  The factory in Shenzhen, a month can handle up to 30 thousand. 200-mm wafers, and commissioned it entered in December, 2014.  The new 300-mm line at the enterprise will earn by the end of 2017 with the release of its planned capacity of 40 thousand Wafers per month. China and the global industry is demanding more and more semiconductors.  According to analysts the company PwC, the Chinese semiconductor industry in 2014 increased by 17.5% to a record level of $ 77.3 billion per year.  From 2004 to 2014, the growth of China-made chips averaged 20.5% per year, while consumption chips Chinese companies during this period grew by 16.7% on average, while the global semiconductor industry consumption grew by about 4.7 on average % in year.  Similar rates of growth of consumption stimulated Chinese manufacturers to actively develop the production of chips, which, incidentally, is also strongly encouraged by the local authorities in the form of grants and the provision of a wide range of benefits. At present, China has five 300-mm factories, two of which are owned by SMIC.  Two more 300-mm plant built.  They added a new venture company, which will begin operation before the end of this year.  What technological production standards will be employed on it, is not specified.  But there is an explanation that the production line will be used second-hand.   Related Products :
