Although NVIDIA did not publicly admit it anywhere, it was obvious that the release of GeForce GTX 1080 and GeForce GTX 1060 versions with faster memory is timed to the appearance of AMD Radeon RX 5xx family on sale.  The latter, as we know, are based on a new revision of the GPUs Polaris family, and what can NVIDIA offer?  On this score, there are two news, and both are good.  MSI GeForce GTX 1080 Gaming X +,  uses the GP104-410-A1 graphics processor, while the GeForce GTX 1080 year old was content with the GP104-400-A1. The second good news is more expected, although among our readers there were also militant skeptics.  Memory chips type GDDR5X produced by Micron, which colleagues were able to detect on new video cards, have the marking type D9VRL . Translated into the language of the technical documentation (see below), this means that the data of the GDDR5X memory chips are designed to operate at 11 GHz QDR. Note that the past revisions of the video cards (and they, by the way, the revision numbers of the PCBs do not differ), used a slower memory with the D9TXS marking and the limiting frequency of 10 GHz QDR. In short, the GeForce GTX 1080 this spring "freshened up" in the revision of the graphics processor and memory chips.  Moreover, these video cards have already started to go on sale.   Related Products :
