The next desktop processors from Intel will be the models codenamed Coffee Lake (Core i7-8000). They will rely on the improved technical process of 14 ++, but they will preserve the architecture inherent in the generation of Kaby Lake processors. In this way, Coffee Lake processors are also called Kaby Lake Refresh. Significant difference between the Coffee Lake promises to be a 6-nuclear layout. Kaby Lake models carry only four cores on board. Six-core Coffee Lake will be the
first mass desktop 6-core Intel processors and, of course, with built-in graphics (class GT2).
Engineering samples of the 6-core Coffee Lake-S models just surfaced in the SiSoft Sandra database. While they are under the name of Kaby Lake, however, the presence of 6 cores supporting 12 streams clearly indicates that this is not Kaby Lake. The operating frequencies of the engineering sample lie in the range 3.5-4.2 GHz. The amount of L3 cache is specified as 12 MB. The memory controller ran at 2.7 GHz. Consumption of the detected model reaches 81 watts. According to
early announcements of Intel, the Core i7-8000 processors will be up to 30% more productive than their predecessors. Related Products :
