The need of 55nm for GT200 chip was discussed many times . Recently some new chip GT200 modification was noted in drivers, and we expressed a timid hope for the future 55 NM version . Currently the quantity of GT200 transistors is 1,4 billion . The core occupies 576 sq. mm., and from one silicic plate with 300 mm diameter TSMC obtains 94 chips GT200. Associates report that the passage on 55 NM technical process will allow to decrease the core area to 470 sq. mm., and one standard silicic plate will issue already about 120 chips. According to our associates, now the release level of suitable chips does not exceed 40%, but with the passage on 55 NM technical process it will be able to step over , and even to approach 50%. | ||
