Each motherboard producers attempted to give its products on base of intel P45 chipset a certain unique properties. This chipset will become the last for LGA 775 platform. From other side, the update in comparison with predecessor are not many ; therefore motherboards are released with different pleasant bonus.

MSI Company, as we already reported, proposed for P45 motherboards EFI support , which had to replace the good old classical bios menu . Similar passage is completely free of charge, simply users has to download the updated micro-code from the producer site . MSI promised, that this possibility will be given in July this year. Now in MSI site, it is possible to reveal reference about new bios for the motherboard P45D3 platinum, which is based on P45 chipset, and support DDR3 memory . In the next weeks, as explained MSI representatives , will appear similar update for the motherboard MSI p45 diamond and P45 platinum, which will also open access to the advanced interface click bios (or EFI).

There are only a few update in the possible settings , but different additional functions make this interface unique. For example, it is possible to load instead of the operating system a simple game applications . Or it is possible to connect to the Internet, to exchange text messages, to hear musical files. Moreover this new bios include a HDD back up function . One of the main qualities of this interface - is the possibility to use the mouse.

Also there is a special division for the energy consumption control , with the correct settings it allow to economize electric power. Click bios (EFI) require 32-MB bios chip; therefore this interface will not be adapted on cheaper models.

I did experiment with the first ClickBIOS version. Didn\'t seem to be that much stable. Had to cross my fingers and get back to the legacy v1.4. But, its a very promising interface. Waitin\' for and updated BIOS where stability issues would be fixed. Asif, Bangladesh talisman@live.com
