On game-Fest 2008 exhibition , Microsoft company reported many interesting and expected announcement - API (Application programming interface) directX 11, which, as it was communicated, must be completely compatible with the current version - DirectX 10.
Associate indicate that DirectX 11 is called by developer as something like the errors correction of DirectX 10, ( advanced version ). Microsoft plan to create DirectX 11 as simple as possible for games developers :
- Full support (including hardware DX11 possibilities ) in Windows vista and future versions (but not in Windows XP);
- Compatibility with hardware, which support DirectX 10 and 10.1 and DirectX 11;
- New shader technology , which allow to actively use GPU not only as tool for 3d, but also as powerful processor for mass parallelism in calculations;
- Processing multi-threaded data , multi-core systems can obtain a large return from their hardware;
Microsoft company plan to finish the work on DirectX 11 to the end of 2008 or to the beginning of 2009. Related Products :
