Recently Microsoft company published some results which speak that the actual monopoly of Windows on the PC market comes to the end.
Commenting on the low increase in Windows sales , Microsoft representative noted that the market passes from traditional PC to notebook. SeekingAlpha Analysts confirm the presence of this effect. According to their estimation, a increase in PC sales for this block composed 10-12%. At the same time, increase in the sales of custom desktop PC proved to be lower than the expected value.
The Deliveries volumes of OEM computer constantly grow, incomes of OEM producer fell in this year by 1% . In turn, reduction in the price was caused by two factors. From one side, increase in the interest in cheaper mobile systems : notebooks . From other side increase in the deliveries volume for the developing markets, which also look for budget solutions.
Possibly, the small and inexpensive notebook will, after all, simply fill the formed niche. In any event, new versions Windows (OS) are not completely necessary to them. Those notebook wonderfully work with Windows XP, and Linux.
Now for each ten sold notebook , seven cost no more than $500. and in this case only one of them is supplied with Windows vista, five come with Windows XP home and one model is delivered with Linux OS.
Does this indicate the end for Microsoft? Certainly, no. But this is already the beginning of end.
