Due to many member requests to add windows vista benchmark in our last windows 7 review , We tried to compile the data as soon as possible now this preview includes : Windows SP Sp3 (latest update) , Windows Vista 32 bit SP1 (latest update) , Windows 7 (7000 Build Beta 1) 32 Bits (latest release) and Windows 7 (6956 Build) 32 Bits . Our Test System : Processor : Core 2 Duo E8500 @ 3.6 GHz (450 MHz x8) , 1.15v, Motherboard : Biostar Tpower Ip45 . Memory : 2x 1 GB Ocz Reaper extreme 1150 MHz (5-5-5-11) . (@1180 MHz) Video card : Nvidia 9800 GT (700Mhz Core , 1860 memory , 1700 SHader) HDD : Raid0, 2x Seagate 320 GB Without excess words let us pass directly to the benchmark , we will start from daily use application (Compressing / Decompressing) . Windows 7 Beta 1 7000 Vs Windows Xp Sp3 (Compressing / Decompressing) : The archiving performance was improved in windows 7 it is higher than windows vista and windows Xp . Windows 7 Beta 1 7000 Vs Windows Xp Sp3 (Memory and Some CPu) : The memory bandwidth is slightly better with windows 7 (than windows vista) by about 1-2%, but it was fairly improved in comparison with windows Xp .. Windows 7 Beta 1 7000 Vs Windows Xp Sp3 (Cache / Memory) : Windows 7 beta 7000.0 has a faster cache performance . Windows 7 Beta 1 7000 Vs Windows Xp Sp3 (HDD) : The HDD performance was low with windows vista just like windows 7 , the write performance is better with windows 7 while the read performance is higher with windows vista . In both case windows xp was a pure leader . We can also note that the HDD performance with the release 6956 (windows 7) was higher than the current beta 7000. Windows 7 Beta 1 7000 Vs Windows Xp Sp3 (Rendering/OpenGL) : The rendering and OpenGl performance was improved in comparison with windows vista , the OpenGL benchmark shows over 10% boot . Windows 7 Beta 1 7000 Vs Windows Xp Sp3 (3D Synthetic/Real gaming) : FureMark gives an equal score for all operating systems . Windows XP shows the best result wile windows vista and windows 7 are a bit slower . In real gaming the old release 6956 show almost the same performance as windows Xp . while the new one was as fast as windows vista . Related Products :

There is definately something very wrong with your test computer. I see you have RAID 0. I also have 2 RAID0 matrices and i gave up XP because it was too slow at data transfer. I only achieved 90 MB/s on XP when copying from one matrix to another. Vista and Windows 7 achieve 180-200 MB/s. My conclusion is your hardware or drivers are really really screwed. You shouldn\'t perform any tests. In my tests Windows 7 is faster than XP in every aspect.

	Those were the data from our test, and we consider them accurate enough , The data transfer also lay on the chipset which was on our case P45 ICH10 .

	Hi guys, don\'t know about you and the tests. For years I have used XP and Vista, and now 7 and alas! one thing is certain. Maybe Microsoft has thrown in some speed widget; 7 is great. Windows loads quickly, programs open faster (I now see less of that blue oval cursor) and Windows shuts down pretty fast. Alfred (Uganda)
