Intel plans to present one and dual core processors pineview with the integrated graphic core in the nettop segment  . Let us recall that pineview processors will be released on previous 45 NM technical process, but the transfer of memory controller and graphic core in the processor will allow to decrease the motherboard area  and to simplify its design. In particular, if the processor atom, i945GSE north bridge and ICH 7 M south bridge  occupied the area 2174 sq. mm, then the two-chip system  pine Trail- M occupies the area not more than 773 sq. mm. It is reached with savings on the motherboard by 64%. Furthermore, motherboard can be released in a four-layer design instead of six. pineview processor frequency will exceed 1.6 GHz, and the built-in memory controller will support DDR 2-667. The chipset i945GSE supports only DDR 2-533 memory. The graphic system will, unfortunately, preserve the GMA 950 functionality, but the core frequency  will be increased from 133 to 200 MHz. This graphic core supports only DirectX 9. The gain of new platform is not so great from the energy consumption side. The average energy consumption level for the processor will be lowered from 2.5 to 2.0 W, and the TDP value - from 8 to 7 W. This will allow notebook producers to create products with 10 screen  with a completely passive cooling. The announcement of pine Trail- M and processors Pineview- M platform is planned for the second-half this year. Related Products :
