The motherboard GA -MA790X-Ud4 is based on AMD 790X chipset . In essence, AMD 790X is the reduced version AMD 790FX, on base of RD780. Without the integrated graphic processor, it supports ATI crossFireX, using up to 16 lines PCI-Express 2.0 for the needs of discrete graphic systems. Usually this quantity is divided in equal parts, which allow to connect two 3d- card in the crossfire configuration . Being released simultaneously with 790FX and 770, The 790X chipset was not popular. Due to the pressure from NVIDIA nForce 750a SLI , AMD was concentrated on 790GX chipset, possessing all merits of 790X and integrated graphic processor.  However, let us return to the motherboard Gigabyte GA -MA790X-Ud4. Paired with 790X , Gigabyte use here the south bridge SB750, which supports the advanced overclock functions for AMD processor. This motherboard is intended for all processors AM2/AM2+, including new series models phenom II. There are four DDR 2-1200 memory modules . Two slots PCI-Express x16 (structurally) separated on eight lines PCI-Express 2.0 allow to create high performance graphic systems, which work in the crossfire regime . Gigabyte GA -MA790X-Ud4 includes also : multichannel sound codec, adapter gigabit ethernet, ports FireWire and USB.
