Core i7 is undoubtedly the fastest processor for desktop systems, but when we deal with sales, then here everything is quite the opposite. Core i7 920 (2.66GHz) is the cheapest of all Core i7 , it is sold for the reasonable price of 260 euros, but the prices of motherboard and memory remain too high.
The productivity of Core 2 Quad processors , remains today at the outstanding level. Furthermore, here it is possible to add a cheap motherboard and memory. This is the basic reason for platform selection based on Core 2 Quad instead of expensive Core i7. | ||
