According to official Intel information , the new processor atom, under the code name pineview, will not appear earlier than the middle of the fourth quarter this year. It was previously considered that the new processor for mobile devices will appear already in the middle of 2009. However, according to new Intel information the release of such processor was postponed by an entire block.
The shift of release date can be explained by the market situation , where the demand still good enough for Atom diamondville, so there is no sense to introduce a new processor . As it is expected, Pineview will have its own memory controller and graphic core. We should expect also the appearance of the 200 MHz version GMA 950 core, at the given moment it exists only in 133 MHz version. Pineview processors will be manufactured on the 45- nm technical process, and its clock frequency will be higher than Atom n270 (1,67 MHz). The physical chip dimensions will decrease substantially. The frequency of the memory controller will be increased from 533 MHz to 667. The maximum energy consumption value will be lowered to 7 W. | ||
