AMD and NVIDIA companies depend completely on TSMC for the passage rates on 40 nm technical process . As reports associate, to the middle of year TSMC plans to obtain up to 2% of income from the production of chips on 40 nm and 45 nm technology. UMC in this time will master only the production of 45 nm chips prototypes.
If we speak about the past block, then TSMC was also a leader among 65 nm chips producers - their portion was about 27% of all the company incomes . To the end of present year TSMC plans to master the mass production of 32 nm technological standards. In the first stage, they will be able to release only devices with a low energy consumption level, which does not relate to current video chip generation. According to analysts estimations , due to the universal crisis in this year the semiconductor industry will lose in the sales volumes up to 35%. However, this will not force the chief producers to decrease expenditures for scientific technical developments and to decrease the capital investments in technological production rearmament .
