Intel company decided to announce two new models series atom z5xx, oriented to the segment of Internet- devices (MID).
We deal with the processors atom z550 (2.0 GHz) and Atom z515 (1.2 GHz), each is equipped with 512 KB cache in the second level. The TDP value in the first processor is equal to 2.4 W, average energy consumption does not exceed 220 mW, and at rest it consumes not more than 100 mW the processor bus frequency for atom z550 is equal to 533 MHz, it support technology hyper-Threading.
The processor atom z515 (1.2 GHz) is the first model with the support to the technology Intel burst performance technology. It has two basic energy states, which correspond to the frequencies 1.2 GHz and 800 MHz. In the first state the TDP level does not exceed 1.4 W, in the second - 0.65 W. The average energy consumption level is equal to 160 mW, in the quiescent conditions it does not exceed 80 mW this processor supports 400 MHz bus and hyper-Threading technologies.
On IDF spring 2009, which was opened yesterday in Peking, Intel representatives also demonstrated the first working model platform moorestown, based on 45 nm processor lincroft with the integrated graphic core and memory controller . The announcement of this platform is planned in 2010, it is oriented to the MID- devices segment. Intel promises a tenfold decrease in the energy consumption level due to the application of energy-economy mechanisms and improvements in the technical process.
As reports associate , Intel mobile division during IDF spring 2009 noted that notebook were intended predominantly for children, since on their functional possibilities they cannot be compared with full-scale notebook.
