We already reported about the extreme overclock of phenom II X4 940 Black edition to 6.5 GHz with the use of liquid helium at a temperature below minus 240 degree Celsius. It is necessary to say that the presented recently Phenom II X4 955 Black edition did not demonstrate any overclocking potential improvements with the use of traditional air cooler , reaching frequencies of approximately 3.8-4.0 GHz.
AMD representatives reported that under laboratory conditions it was possible to overclock the processor phenom II X4 955 Black edition from the default frequency 3.2 GHz to 7 GHz. In the course of experiment AMD used the specially selected processor which was cooled by liquid helium.

For cooling a desktop system during 90 minutes with helium will be required about 240 liters of liquid . Liquid helium is found under high pressure, its leakage is capable of extruding all the remaining gases and causing the asphyxia of experiment participants . In a word, this is very dangerous; therefore, it is simply and more safely to be satisfied by a smaller frequency :-) .
