Associate report that graphic chips with directX 11 following generations will be released by AMD company at globalfoundries enterprise. Already in the following year globalfoundries will release 28 nm video chips .
To public were demonstrated three silicic plates, on the first were placed 45 nm six-core processors opteron, known to us under the code name Istanbul.
Other two plates contained certain chips, released on the promising technological processes. In particular, the second plate included a processor with memory controller released on 32 nm technology with the use of high- k dielectrics and technology silicon on insulator (SOI).
Although the release of processors on 32 nm technology will be up to 2010, other globalfoundries customers can obtain their 32 nm products already in the following half-year. According to the globalfoundries representatives , the released on 32 nm technologies chips possess the increased up to 40% transistors operating speed in comparison with present 45 nm products.
Globalfoundries also demonstrated plates with 28 nm memory chip SRAM, which possess monolithic base layer (bulk CMOS) without SOI use. Within the 28 nm technical process this company will use the third generation immersion lithograph and the second generation transistors with metallic lock and high- k dielectrics. Orders for 28 technologies will begin in first half 2010.
On this technology can be released both devices with low energy consumption levels and video chip. Globalfoundries is assured that it will succeed in exceeding TSMC on the consumer qualities of 28 nm chips. In comparison with 32 nm chips it will be possible to considerably decrease the energy consumption and core sizes. Related Products :
