The event, which many gamer waited took place yesterday: company NVIDIA announced the first graphic accelerator with directX 10 support  . More exactly saying, they were announced two video card on the base of chip  g80: GeForce 8800 GTX GeForce 8800 GTS. About them we continuously spoke for the  last two months, it remained to only supplement already known technical characteristics. We start with GeForce 8800 GTX: Chip Frequency 575 MHz. 128 data processors, which work at the frequency of 1350 MHz. 32 textural units. 24 ROP units . Memory Frequency  1800 MHz DDR. 768 mb.  memory type GDDR- E. 384- bit memory Bus. Memory brandwidth 86 Gbit/s. Recommended retail price $599. Let us recall that the printed-circuit board has length on the order of 270 mm, which sets limitations on the compatibility with some cases. But if u want to use the mode SLI with a pair of such video card, it is necessary to acquire  power supply unit with power not less than 600 W. we will not go in the detail of directx 10 and the g80 future since such information is already availble in our review section.. Let us note only that  the architecture  g80 will make  possible to create a graphical solutions of more available price class  sufficiently balanced price/performance. According to the preliminary data, such first products will appear in February- March  2007. They also must ensure the support Of directX 10.
