A pair of months ago we considered that the new south bridge AMD SB850 will appear in the middle of the fourth quarter. It had to bring the native support of SATA-600 interface. Motherboards on base of Intel chipset use the discrete controllers SATA-600 from strange developers.
Associate reports about the transfer of south bridge SB850 and north bridges announcement for later period . Discrete chipset RD890, integrated chipset RS880D with directX 10.1 support on base of graphic core RV620 and the south bridge SB850 will be presented during January 2010, during November their mass production will starts. The graphic core in RS880D chipset will correspond to the discrete solution radeon HD 3400, it will ensure support to directX 10.1 and UVD 2.0. Its default frequency will be equal to 700 MHz. RS880D Chipset TDP level will not exceed 22 W, discrete chipset RD890 will be limited to TDP 18 W.
During May 2010 AMD will release the cheaper south bridge SB810, which will differ from SB850 in terms of absences of support to RAID 5 regimes. Both south bridges ensure support to SATA-600. AMD does not hurry to inject USB 3.0 support. Related Products :
