Some important HDD producers consider that with the present prices level SSD has two market niches:  the segment of budgetary notebook with small SSD volumes and the server segment, where high speed operation and reliability of solid-state disks are required . As reports associate , that notebooks from Asus and Acer base models on base of small SSD and free operating systems linux are not frequently encountered on sale, users prefer products on base of HDD with 160 Gb volume and operating system Windows XP. The memory volume in this case frequently reaches 2 Gb. The reason for the low popularity Of linux in this market segment was already discussed – to the majority of notebook  buyers is much easier to use the operating system Windows XP. SSD disappears from notebook not only due to the high specific cost : the majority of users did not note difference in speed with the usual HDD, but they prefer to have a large disk space volume.
