The hardware acceleration and decoders were always urgent in both desktop and mobile computers segment .The video hardware acceleration was usually made by the graphic processors, which with each new generation learned to use new formats. broadcom corporation , noted for its one chip solutions on the market for net adapters and different controllers, decided to release similar video chips. On computex 2007 exhibition in July broadcom corporation presented the first hardware decoders BCM70010 and BCM70012, which supported practically all popular formats H.264/AVC, VC-1, WMV9 and MPEG-2 at the resolution up to 1080i. Dell, Toshiba and Compaq actively used this chip in their notebooks . It was proposed by large wholesale parties for 40$ per piece.

A Year later, a new decoder was noted in the super-productive solutions Toshiba qosmio sries. Later appeared netbook based on the Intel atom platform, which has a poor video possibility , and to install productive graphic chips on such devices were economically not expedient. After another year, appeared rumors about the future BCM70015 from the same broadcom corporation , which was intended as video decoder for netbook. Through several months new products with the built-in accelerator were announced by HP and MSI. Moreover, the model HP mini 110 now is found on sale and is completed by the decoder for the additional 30$. Related Products :
