European Commission during May this year decreed, that Intel must pay about $1,45 billion penalty for the incorrect competitor behavior, and also to end some forms of client encouragements. Intel Representatives repeatedly declared, that they were not agreeing with the resolution of European Commission, and they are going to appeal against it in the law court.
First, charge did not consider that in the period from 2002 through 2007 in the history of AMD activity were observed periods, when the company increased its market share and profit size . AMD failures , in the opinion of Intel, it related to the company itself.
In the second place, Intel considers that accusers failed in proving that Intel ordered its clients to not use AMD processors.
The size of penalty is considered by Intel as unjustifiably overstated, and it is going either to get rid of it or to proportionally decrease the essential sum.
