same news flashed the reference about the video card GeForce 7950 gt, which   was  planned from high price segment, being, supposedly, the accelerated version of GeForce 7900 gt. some source published the presentation from  NVIDIA, in which it was told about characteristics of the GeForce 7950 gt, periods of announcement and positioning of this video card. from characteristics of  the GeForce 7950 gt it look like a close relative for GeForce 7900 gtx with  low price of $299: Frequencies of 550/1400 MHz; 24 pixel shader; 512 mb.  memory of  type Gddr-3; the 256- bit memory bus; Support HDCP and H.264; 1 slot cooler; Two ports DVI with function Dual- link and output HDTV. this card should come in 14 September. Novelty  name GeForce 7950 gt will get the intermediate position between GeForce 7900 gtx and GeForce 7900 gs. By the way, to  complet this  picture here is  characteristics of the latter: Frequencies of 450/1320 MHz; 20 pixel shader;; 256 mb. of memory   type Gddr-3; the 256- bit memory bus; Recommended price $199; Date of  announcement  30 August. both video card are based on the well known 0.09 m chip G71, simply NVIDIA sequential time plays with the combination of price and characteristics. In the same presentation NVIDIA for some reason compares the GeForce 7950 GT with  that   Radeon X1950 Pro (RV570), although the difference in  price between these video card is about $50-100. More reasonable was to compare GeForce 7900 gs and Radeon X1950 Pro. Obviously, NVIDIA simply  does not know that cost of Radeon X1950 Pro will  lay within limits of $199-249. In 3DMark06 test  the GeForce 7950 gt video card must   collect about 4687 marks. However, both video card, GeForce 7950 gt and GeForce 7900 gs, must  appeare in sale during the first day after announcement - on 14 September and on 30 August respectively. . Related Products :
