Associate reported some details relative to plans of AMD on the release of new desktop and mobile platforms.  During April AMD will release the chipset AMD 890FX. It will become a base for the platform PC leo, which includes the six-core processors thuban. In 2011 in this segment will appear the platform AMD scorpius. In it will enter 32-nm CPU bulldozer, whose core number will be equal to 4-8, and new discrete graphical solutions.  In the mass segment after dorado platform on chipset 890GX with integrated video core in 2011 will appear lynx platform . Its distinctive special feature will become the integration of graphic core in CPU. Such solutions will become the balance of computational resources, high productivity of graphic core and high energy effectiveness. It is assumed that the north bridges AMD 880G and 890GX in this platform will be coupled with the south bridge SB850 with SATA 6 Gbit/s and RAID5 support.  Concerning notebook, in this year AMD will release the platform danube with the support of three core and four core processors. The discrete graphic processors, entering in this platform, will support DirectX 11. Passage to fusion technology (platform sabine) in the mobile segment is expected in 2011. Related Products : | ||
